Walking Tours
Organizing walking tours of Little Syria, Ottoman New York, and religious site histories in Lower Manhattan.
The Washington Street Advocacy organizes regular walking tours related to the history it studies and advocates for. These include: a tour of the “Little Syria” neighborhood of Lower Manhattan; a tour of “Ottoman New York,” looking at the broader Ottoman connections in Lower Manhattan; and a tour called “First Church-First Synagogue-First Mosque,” which takes people to the sites of the earliest houses of worship for the different Abrahamic faiths.
We often use these tours to inform participants of the need for further preservation in Lower Manhattan, fulfilling our mission.
